I’m talking to y’all from a freshly dug grave, and I hope that this video serves as a wakeup call, first and foremost for myself, and then all of y’all watching this video to wake us all up from the drunken haze that this dunya, this worldly life, has intoxicated us in. For my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, the more we remember death, the more it shatters the fake wales of pleasure that this dunya adorns herself with. And that is why our beloved Prophet Muhammad salla Allahu alaihi wasallam is reported to have said, and the Hadith is in Tirmidhi: akthirou dhikra hadimi ladhat. Make excessive remembrance of the destroyer of pleasures. Allahu Akbar! 

Make excessive remembrance of the Terminator of pleasures and Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala states in the Quran: kullu nafsin dhaiqatul maout. That each and every soul shall inevitably taste death. Therefore it is upon us to remember death often. It is upon us to remember death excessively. For, most of us, we hanker behind this dunya. We amass millions, even though I’m not saying that it is haram. We amass millions, we build mansions, we run around in expensive motor vehicles, but at the end of the day, this is where we are headed to. This is the abode we are headed to. This is the first stage in our trek across to the akhira, to the eternal hereafter. And if this stage goes well, alhamdulillah, then the stages after that will also go well. And if this stage, if this qabr (grave) of ours, is made into a garden from the gardens of Jannah, then indeed we are going to be successful in the Hereafter. May Allah Subhanahu wa ta’ala make us all from the successful ones.
